By means of a gift fund made to the University by the 菲律宾美国 community in Hampton Roads, a 菲律宾美国 Student Cultural Center was established at bet8体育娱乐入口 in 1998 to address 菲律宾美国 students' desire to learn more about their culture, 遗产, 和历史.

Like all other gifts to the University, 菲律宾美国 Student Cultural programming funds are administered by the ODU Educational Foundation. Available program funds are channeled annually from the Foundation to the 文学院 and 信s through the Dean's Office.

The University's Office of Inter文化 Relations (OIR) works with 菲律宾美国 students and student groups on campus, ODU教员, and an advisory board with members from the 菲律宾美国 community in Hampton Roads. 在一起, these groups work on planning and carrying out integrated programs for the benefit not only of 菲律宾美国 communities on campus, but also for the university and local community at large.

The physical space for 菲律宾美国 Cultural Programs at ODU has evolved along with the University's overall physical and infrastructure growth. 目前, a 菲律宾美国 文化s space has been designated in the U-Center (at the Webb Student Center) on the main campus.

The Office of Inter文化 Relations works closely with the Dean's Office and the 菲律宾美国 Student Association; with input from academic and other advisory groups on campus and in the community, they work to create and carry out programs that support the University's 菲律宾美国 student 文化 programs.

• To foster close linkages with the ODU 菲律宾美国 alumni
• To reflect and promote the University's commitment to diversity in an institution of higher learning
• 鼓励, 扩大, and strengthen new resiliencies that will best serve ODU's 菲律宾美国 student body;
• Develop and advance both short-term and long-term academic programs* that have the capacity to enrich and celebrate students' learning about culture, 遗产, 和历史;
• Develop and promote opportunities to create courses and/or encourage 奖学金/research/collaboration in Philippine/菲律宾美国 studies, 语言, 历史, 和文化;
• Serve as an additional resource on 菲律宾美国 culture, 奖学金, 遗产, 和历史 for the University community, the greater Hampton Roads community, and other communities in the area
